We went back to Primary Children's on Monday and the latest x-ray revealed further degeneration and not much difference in ROM (range of motion) so surgery was recommended. Unfortunately the only date in the near future is the day before Ashton's 8th birthday. We initially said no, but then I said the only way we could do that would be to move his birthday party up a week. Ashton jumped at that opportunity and is so thrilled about his early birthday party that nothing else matters to him.
So surgery is set for December 9th. He will either come home with both legs casted or one leg and his entire pelvis depending on what the doctor determines on the operating table. Either way he will be layed up in bed for his birthday and Christmas and into January for some time.
Please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
