Last night we asked Ashton how he was feeling about his surgery, and like the positive boy that he is he paused and said, "The WORST thing that could happen is I could wake up to find a PINK Cast."
He has been amazingly accepting of his condition although he did say it is easier for people to talk about his broken hip than it is to live with it. So true!
Primary Children's has been just as wonderful as everyone said they would be. Ashton was on the operating table for nearly 4 hours, and there was an extra long agonizing wait to see him. Turns out he did need the osteotomy which means he will need screws and the blade plate removed at some point, but that timeline will take some time to unfold.
He has only said a few words today... "I'm stuck here" being the most words strung together.
Photos later...
Thanks for all the love, prayers, and understanding.

The picture you texted was definitely NOT of a pink cast!
ReplyDeleteWe are thinking of you!!!
First Grade was thinking about your family and Ashton all day. Relieved to see a blue cast, for Ashton's sake! Amy kept us informed via the texts. Godspeed, and thanks for the posts!
