Another Milestone

Aidan won his first trophy at the school storytelling festival.  He has earned team sports plaques and ribbons, but this independent win was huge for his self-esteem.  He memorized a folk tale called, "Old Drye Fry" and an emerging star came out in the voice of a southern boy.  He says his accent was his favorite part.  My favorite part was watching my more reserved son independently sign up for storytelling, choose his own story, and go for it!  He competed against 3rd, 4th and 5th graders and took home 1st place in the folk tale/tall tale category.  Today he took his act to the District Story Telling Festival and came home beaming again.
